External Data Sharing
External data sharing lets selected Pianola data be made available outside the main application.
This can support reporting, websites, portals, partner systems, exports, integrations, or other tools that need to read information from a Pianola application.
When to Use It
Use external data sharing when another system needs reliable access to data that is maintained in Pianola.
For example, a public website might need event information, a reporting tool might need project data, or a partner system might need a controlled subset of records.
What Project Managers Should Decide
Project managers should clarify:
- which data should be shared
- who or what should be able to access it
- whether the data is public, private, or restricted
- how often the external system needs updated information
- whether the data should be read-only or part of a wider integration
