PDF Button

A PDF button opens or downloads a PDF connected to the record.

PDF buttons are useful for invoices, contracts, reports, tickets, confirmations, certificates, and generated documents. They are action components for opening a stored document.

When to Use It

Use a PDF button when the record already has a PDF that users need to view or download.

If the user first needs to generate the PDF, use an Action Button for that process and a PDF button for the resulting document.

What Can Be Configured

Label

The label should name the document clearly, such as "Open invoice", "Download contract", or "View ticket".

Source Document

The button opens the PDF associated with the current record. Project teams should decide whether the file is uploaded, generated, or supplied by another system.

Placement

PDF buttons should sit near the fields or workflow step that make the document relevant, such as a contract section, invoice area, or confirmation panel.
